Victims

A couple of hours working in the 'yard this morning, in a howling gale. The  soil in the containers was bone dry, so I managed to locate the hosepipe and give the plants a good soaking. The bold blackbird seemed happy to join in, and spent half an hour perching on one of the pots under a mahonia plant, looking as though he was thoroughly enjoying a shower! Among other things, the wind had snapped off part of a clematis - it's now in a vase with a miniature daff, also the victim of a rogue gust. No idea whether you can root clematis in water, but it's worth try.

Sad to learn that Ogatodomar has died. One of the good guys
