Frances Macia looking good with no scaffolding.   This square used to be home to one of our favourite restaurants in Barcelona, La Oca.  It was one of those big institutional places with lots of different areas for morning coffee, lunches, merienda (coffee/tea/drink and snack early evening) and then dinner and drinks in the evening either in the informal part or the pizzeria or the posher (but still very accessible) area.  It was every day of the year from early morning until the wee sma' hours of the morning.  We were 'devastated' when it closed down.  Unknown to us, we'd been there on its last night and then the next day Bb read in La Vanguardia newspaper that it had closed down to make way for a big expensive block of flats.  This was years ago now, but we have many happy memories of times there.
