A Spring Surprise

'Calder Community Cares' is a volunteer organisation based in the Upper Calder Valley. Throughout this Covid pandemic their cheerful band of volunteers have been busying away helping people, organising all kind of things and generally doing lots of good work.
These are the Easter Goodies they delivered to 'cheer everyone up'.  The hand made Easter card is particularly touching.  Made by 'Holly' who is a pupil at Hebden Royd Primary School. We don't know Holly but my extra shows the inside of the card.
The 'goodies' also included this poem:
          Restrictions No Longer
The long cold Winter is melting away
And a single red bird was spotted today
Through the mist the sun is now peeking
Squirrels abound and are out acorn seeking
New life is sprouting in fields and in woods
And soon our kids will wander in wellies and hoods
In but a few weeks we will all be free to wander
Summer is near, but a few months yonder
And we hope that times will then be clearer and fonder
With Covid restrictions upon us no longer.
