Tree surgery

Our Eucalyptus tree bought many years ago in a garden centre had grown so tall that it was interfering with telephone wires and in strong winds was swaying dangerously and worried us that it would topple and destroy the garden wall. Yesterday in the Arctic gales the top looked like a pole vaulter’s pole .

We took professional advice and today it has been pollarded and the young man showed monkey like skill with all his safety equipment and a chain saw.

Several other trees were also interfering with telephone wires to our neighbours so the silver birch, a plum tree, holly tree and Rowan also got a wee trim.

The first extra shows the before scene and the third extra shows the young man up the birch tree.

It was only appropriate that after they had finished I went to the barber and had my first hair cut since before Christmas!
