"The Old Lad"

The cock Pheasant which is frequenting the garden along with his harem of four "wives" is in full breeding colour.  He spends a lot of time displaying and just standing bolt upright among the remains of last years Irises.  This is a quickly snatched shot through the window.

Every Cock Pheasant that hangs around the garden is known to us as "the Old Lad".   Last year we had two who were very careful to avoid each other.  They became confident enough to be prepared to eat out of my hand.
