Sunset down at the Avon lagoon on the West side of Linlithgow. Site of the Battle of Linlithgow Bridge.
"Battle of what?" you say. It was September 1526 and to do with a squabble over who was looking after the young King James V. He was Mary QoS (Queen of Scots, not Queen of the South) father.
Rather than go on here, the extra is from an information board in the woods which explains how the battle went. History under our feet.
