A Day In The Life

Anyone Home?

We had some mail to take to the Post Office and decided to check out some of our favorite haunts before returning home to work in the yard. Procrastination at its finest ;) • The little pond - it doesn’t have a name but maybe we should give it one; feel free to offer suggestions - was mostly quiet but we did enjoy peeking into a few of the birdhouses erected along the water’s edge. This one had a nest inside so we sat on a granite bench quite a distance away to quietly watch for activity. Apparently no one was home • We visited the river in Hallowell and Gardiner to catch glimpses of Canada Geese, Seagulls, a Mallard Duck, and a Juvenile Eagle. MrsP even spotted a bluebird during a quick visit to Cobbossseecontee Stream in West Gardiner! • A bit of trivia: the name of the stream is a Wabanaki word which translates to “plenty of sturgeon” • Finally the two Procrastinators made it home to begin their yard cleanup!
