Today's the day ........................ to replicate

We saw these two from the car on our way into Dumfries today - and it was a real 'double take' moment.

They were life-size - and so life-like - that, just for a moment we thought they were real.  The giveaway was that they were in the carpark of an antique/junk shop - and possibly the fact that they were just standing there!?  But we were intrigued enough to stop on our way back and take a closer look.

They were made of some kind of smooth metal.  They must have weighed a ton and cost a fortune, which is probably why they were tethered to each other - and a couple of stout rings.  Although, if you were planning on a bit of horse-thieving, you would really have had to have a foolproof masterplan that included a small crane.

It was a fascinating place altogether, full of every kind of statue - and quite a lot of them as large as life.  There's a very convincing dragon in extras that Will had his eye on ..............................
