Three of a kind / Drei gleiche

I’ll leave the birding to others more skilled, but following lots of activity before winter, it was pleasing to see these rather majestic creatures flying over our doorstep.

They were far from being three little birds, and despite their aerodynamism they were being seriously buffeted by the high winds.

I also wondered if three was a slightly unusual number?
