Easter Chocolate

Easter is not really celebrated in Thailand. However, I didn't want to miss out on a chocolate hit, so when I saw this local organic chocolate for sale it had to be bought. The flavour choices included pomelo, durian, yellow curry and the coconut one that I chose. We finally got around to tasting the chocolate last night. It is very rich and bitter. On the upside two squares was just enough. I am thinking that the best way to eat this chocolate is with a sweet mandarin, there is very little coconut in it.

We had more rain last night. The sky is lovely and clear and we can breathe easily. We were talking to a young English resident about the air and he remarked on how as Westerners we take clean air for granted. I do have some memories of smog when I was a child and having bronchitis. Also of course I felt and saw the effects of bushfire in Sydney. The difference is that the fires here are not caused by natural phenomenons. The British smog from the 50's has also been eliminated.

Four cases of the virus have been found. Fortunately the patients reported straight to hospital and are now in quarantine. Three people travelled back to Chiang Mai from Bangkok and the fourth man contracted the virus from a Thai Airport, Don Mueang. It has caused local authorities to close down night clubs and force restaurants and bars to close by 11pm. As we are always home by this time it won't affect us. We just hope that no more cases are found.
