Profit

German press reporting the fruits of my work in Germany are paying off. Wienerwald the German Chicken Restaurant & Take Away star of the 60s and 70s gastronomic world in Germany (and back then in the USA as well as some other European countries) was heading back into the profit zone now that UK's Grand Metropolitan plc (late Diageo) had bought them in December 1988,

As the paper writes "Grand Met wasn't just interested in filling stomachs but in giving their customers "Experience Gastronomy".

If you read on in my journal, you will see that within 6 months this bubble had burst and Grande Met announced they were to sell off the business. The whole scheme had failed. Seems the Germany wanted to have full stomachs rather than any kind of "experience".
