wood pigeon

A pair of these are regulars in my garden, which backs onto a wooded park. It's always a small miracle when they heave those plump bodies off the ground.

Apparently they are hard to sex even for pigeon experts, but something about the way this one walked makes me unscientifically think it's a male.
