Small Tortoiseshell

After a family walk in the morning I went for my first visit in many months to a garden centre. Nice to wander round with a trolley and add a few small plants for my rockery .... planting them will be for another day when it’s a bit warmer with no likelihood of frost.

Just as I stepped out of the car I spotted this Small Tortoiseshell resting on the top of a tree stump in the rockery. Fortunately it stayed put long enough for me to grab the camera and take a quick photo.
