ANY BOTANISTS OUT THERE?

I have no idea what this beautiful little flower is...I know only that it grows very early in the growing season, right after the snow cover has melted or sublimated and the first rains of Spring entice it to grow. It's a very short plant, not much taller than 6 to 8 inches (15-20cm)  and the leaves look rather like those of a lily but I really don't know what it is.

Is there any I.D. help out there in Blipville?
