Happy Birthday Mum!

Some days are special, and today was one of them. It was mum’s birthday! For some reason, she doesn’t what me to say how old she is. Weird. She always tells everyone on Blip and elsewhere how old I am! A mystery. 

We had a fab day! I gave her lots of nose kisses and affection, and tried to be on my best behaviour. She had greetings on cards, on the phone, by email and social media with pictures and videos! Yay! Our best friend Heidi had an English Victoria cake with candles and balloons and banners and sang Happy birthday on a video call from England and mum blew out the candles through the iPad and everything! Look!

It was a sunny day so we went for an outing to the canal. A lovely walk with a picnic (egg and shrimp salad sandwich) by the ice cream hut. It was closed, unfortunately, because the season hasn’t started yet. But it was nice. 

In the afternoon we went to Grandma for birthday fika with a FAB cake!! It’s called Victoria cake and is mum’s favourite. Sponge cake, raspberry jam, a chocolate coated meringue layer, fresh raspberries in whipped cream and a marzipan layer on top! We were all happy!! 

Then we had a second slice of cake together with Heidi at home. What would we DO without video calls? It was fun, and she had the special Victoria cake on her end. Lovely! 

For dinner, we went to Grandma’s again. We had fillet of beef with béarnaise sauce, asparagus and potatoes. Yes please!! 

Mum is so happy and grateful!
