Saturday

We walked our Botesdale Common route again this morning, despite the bitterly cold ENE wind. It's a route we can do from home & which consists mainly of lanes & field paths. The overall landscape isn't the most scenic or varied, being large, flattish, newly cultivated fields, so I was looking for plants which showed a Spring-like progression along the lanes & edges. The main picture is the water mint which is growing rapidly in shallow water (not quite a pond) alongside the lane at Stubbing's Green, while the extra shows the developing fruit on some sort of small elm as we headed towards Botesdale Common.
