Wet

Absolutely dismal drizzly weather today. But we'd already decided to go to the market in Lagrasse, which is within our allowed 10 km radius, as opposed to Lézignan, which isn't. We haven't been for a very long time, so it did make a nice change despite the weather. We met several people we know, and while much smaller, it's more upmarket than Lézignan's.

There was only one (not very large) fruit and veg stall but you could buy local bread, sheep's milk cheese and yogurt, a more extensive range of dairy products at the fromager's van,  charcuterie, a Chinese takeaway, locally made honey, pâté, olive oil, and jam, North African pastries ... there's even a coffee van, though we did not partake given the weather.

A new feature is a chef called Cedric who does takeaway food in returnable glass dishes. We bought some lentil, chickpea and spinach curry from him for lunch. It was good, and now I've signed up for his mailing list so he'll tell us what's on the menu each week.

I'm not blipping the market because it was so grey and sad looking. So here's a bit of colour I spotted on the way. Extra: a tulip that looked so peculiarly artificial that I had to touch it to check it was real.

Afternoon by the fire, and getting tomorrow's sourdough loaf going.
