Ironmills Park

On this bright, sunny but chilly day our intended outing was thwarted but we ended up on a path near the Water Tower in Dalkeith. It overlooks the park from South of the river. Not a long path, by any means, and with no apparent destination, but we saw a train pass by on the Border Railway then stood watching a chiffchaff in one of the trees and heard a yaffle (green woodpecker). Such things brighten up the most irritating of days.

Miss Flum popped in for a visit and, after she had left, we had a snowstorm, followed by a hailstorm, which deposited an inch of hail.

Such a typically April day.
