The tide is out

We had a trip to Nelson today, as I had an appointment this morning. On the way into the City, the tide was out, and I took this photo (while Farmerboy was driving) along the bypass. The big building in the background is Nelson Pine Industries Limited, which produces GoldenEdge MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) and NelsonPine LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) from radiata pine grown in the plantation forests of Nelson. It is quite a landmark, with its exhaust fumes flowing from the chimney into the sky 24 hours a day/7days a week.

I loved the mudflats in this photo -its colour is beautiful against the moody looking sky.

We have lovely couple staying in the cottage tonight from the UK. They are tripping around New Zealand, and are enjoying the fantastic weather we are having at the moment.
