I Raise A Hallelujah!

It was a jam-packed morning at FBC!  The mixed ensemble I sing in, Jubilate, started us off with a rousing version of "I  Raise A Hallelujah".  The congregation followed, joining their voices in praise and worship.in a mix .  of contemporary and traditional songs.  The choir concluded the music portion of the service with a stirring rendition of "Thou, O Lord" which is a very choral piece that has become one of my favorites.  Today marked the end of the D-Now weekend for our youth, so their speaker for the weekend, Ryan Fontenot, filled the pulpit.  I love photographing the D-Now speakers because they are so dynamic and Ryan was no exception.  After bringing us a challenging message about the importance of the church body embracing and including the youth actively in the church life and ministry, the congregation was encouraged to come to the altar and lay hands on the youth group as they knelt there,  to pray for them to be able to stand strong in a world and culture that may not share their values.  It was a moving  end to an inspiring morning!
