Caterpillar food

This morning's walk with the spaniel started in snow flurries and ended in sunshine. It was good to see lots of violets in the woods - without violets there wouldn't be any Silver-washed fritillaries in the summer as they are the primary foodstuff for the larvae of all fritillaries.
