A change of scenery

Can you guess where I am?

I have come down to my new extended household in sunny Troon to spend a few days with my bestie, Gill, and she has organised some perfect weather for my stay.

Today Ailsa Craig, the little pimple on the horizon above the figures, and the Isle of Arran across the Firth of Clyde - see extra - were as clear as I've ever seen them.

The mound on the right of the extra is called the Ballast Bank, which has an interesting history. The building in the link is no longer there: public toilets that were so often vandalised that they were demolished.

I may go down to the beach tonight to see if I can capture a Troon sunset...
