Time To Fly, My Children!

Mom and Dad Carolina Chickadee spent their morning trying to convince their babes to step up and fledge. As I watched they would fly up to the nest box with some tasty morsel, in this case a plump something or another. The parent bird would fly from the roof of the box to the entry way, all the while displaying the meal to the chicks. Then she/he would enter the box, not giving anything to the chicks, but jumping out to repeat the display.  After several more attempts, the parent bird would emerge from the nest box sans the meal. I watched them for 30 minutes, until I needed to leave for a doctor's appointment.
Be Well.
