Thank You For the Days ..

Giant Steps

We went to Galashiels this morning to retrieve the LandRover. The garage say they have found the fault - a fuse - and fixed it. This seems too good to be true .... we both anticipate it will run out of steam and leave us stranded in some inconvenient spot. But time will tell. TM got home ok, at any rate.

I set off in search of a picture - a rare opportunity at the moment. It was a stunning day - all the appearance of high summer, apart from the trees just coming into leaf. The temperature never got above 4 degrees and there was an icy breeze that soon numbed the extremities.

Leaderfoot Viaduct was a popular spot - several walkers were picnicking by the old road bridge, where I stood to get this shot. I've photographed it a few times, but never with a wide-angle lens, and never at mid-day, which keeps the shadows in a neat line.

It was great to get out and about. We stopped at the horse-box/coffee stall in Melrose, and a dancing friend came by and we realise how much we are missing such impromptu encounters. Scotland is opening up very cautiously, which I'm all in favour of - but looking forward so much to being able to go further afield.

However - good news - we both get our second vaccination on Wednesday ...

And the landscapers have been, and levelled and resurfaced the zig-zag path. It looks so much better, and I have hopes of persuading TM that we should do the tractor track to match. He's giving it due consideration.
