Gaia principle

I sometimes wonder about what the world would (will?) look like without humans.  It's not that hard to guess I suppose - buildings demolished from decay and, as today's blip reminded me, plant invasion!

I was sitting on my back step and wondered where this fern was coming from - I assumed from under the deck somehow but no, it's sprung from a tiny hole on the side of the pot shown here.

My partner tells me it's a weed - bloody marvellous nonetheless.
