Life through the lens...

Catch of the day!

Another visit to Newlyn to buy fish.
This is the display at Stevensons. Actually 3 displays, as I couldn't get it all in one shot.
They have now only 11 boats going out every day, but in their heyday they had 22.

On the blackboard they had 38 different fish for sale.

Today MrC chose pollock again. Simply pan fried. No need to do anything fancy with fish this fresh. Having it with new potatoes and creamy gratin of leeks.( bought from a local farm 50p for 3 )

Today started misty and a little drizzle. Brightened up, and after a stop at Hayle to see the wading birds in the estuary, and a pasty from Philps, we went to Godrevy for a walk along the cliffs.

Heavens opened, and we got drenched, even though we had rain coats on!
As soon as we got back to the car it stopped, and when we got back here the sun was out.

I was hoping for a nice sunset shot, but the cloud and mist came back to spoil it.

Last day tomorrow. How this fortnight has flown!

( What a difference to last year!)
