Victory, partial

For three years my magnolia tree has struggled with a scale infestation, producing few flowers and stunted, sparse foliage.

For three years I’ve spent the summer getting on a tall ladder weekly and power washing the nasty little buggers off with water instead of poisoning the food chain. She looks like she’s responding to the treatment, finally!

I’ve named her Merrill. She’s not out of the woods yet. Those evil pests are very hard to get rid of.
