Jigsaw Tree

Newly released from the bounds of our Local Authority area we drove down to Dawyck Garden, where we followed a new art trail.

Artist Anne Gilchrist has painted 24 jigsaw-shaped pieces with details from the different trees and they are hung on each and appear as though camouflaged. Each exhibit has a numbered label to assist the search. Edit: a photo of the whole jigsaw appears as an extra.

This is number 12, the rhododendron, so realistic that in searching for it I hit my head on it. The piece appears as the thumbnail - did you spot it?

The journey there and back was something of a lamb-fest, so many fields with new lambs, such a joy to see and minor roads lined with daffodils. Who needs to queue in a traffic jam down to the coast when we have all this just a few miles outside Edinburgh.
