330,000 tree seedlings!

Terry had an appointment over in Inverness to get the covid Jab....so we made an outing of it.  

A couple of years ago Terry had about 30 acres of land here at Big Hill cut down with the plan to replant more species that are in line with the Acadian Forest.  So we had a visit at the Strathlorne Nursery, over that way.   It was an amazing tour.   Frank, a very lovely guy who has worked at the nursery for over 40 years, gladly showed us around the main areas of the place.  Giving us all sorts of information, most of which i've forgotten of course!!!      It is an incredible operation.....they have over 500 acres, it's the main tree nursery in Nova Scotia growing over 4 million trees a year!!!!   

The image above is in one of the greenhouse, this section alone has 330,000 seedlings growing...see extra!    It was an impressive place, and we got to see the main workings of all the systems, water heaters, furnaces, generators etc., it kinda blew my mind to see what is involved in growing trees!  

Then we drove into Inverness and found a lovely little deli for lunch!
