Dun Rig

Making the most of the weather we went down to the Borders today to walk up the Marilyn, Deuchar Law, south of Innerleithen. It was busy in Peebles and Innerleithen, but quiet at Kirkhouse where we parked in the kirk’s carpark. We walked along the Southern Upland Way on a lovely grassy track to just east of the hill when we had lunch before going up to the top. Rather than go back the same way we staggered through heather and tussock before joining an ATV track that lead to The Glen and then a walk back along roads to Kirkhouse. It was pleasantly warm with lots of lambs and new growth just appearing. The blip is taken on the way down looking to the house at Glenshiel Banks with Dun Rig and its snow patches beyond. It looked a great place to live in this weather, but at 370 metres it must be rather bleak in winter.

Best on black.
