Oceanside Dump

Though I was going to post pictures of the 100 dolphins I found myself in the middle of today, I decided that 3 days in a row of wildlife was too much. Instead, this photo of the dump on Magdalena Island, just outside the tiny town of Puerto Magdalena, struck me. All of the waste produced in that town of just over 100 people gets thrown on the outskirts of town, where it eventually washes into the ocean.

Other rejected blips were photos of piles of discarded plastic water bottles in the dump and a macro shot of a "snails foot"--an intricately curved shell.
