A day in Adelaide

Martin and I headed to the Central Markets in Adelaide first thing for breakfast and to check out the amazing produce and ethnic deli items. It was such a feast on your eyes, we loved it.

Back to the hotel to get the boys and check out! We left our bags with Concierge and went out to explore the area around the river Torrens. It was a lovely day out and we had wonderful photo ops.

There was a big NRL game at the Adelaide Oval, we saw loads of spectators headed that way. Then a quick drink at the SkyCity rooftop bar, before heading back to the hotel to catch our taxi to the airport.

Our flight up to the Sunshine Coast was smooth, and Martin and I felt the weight of what was actually happening ... the start of our new life. Felt a bit emotional as we got off the flight, but were thrilled to be met by Martin’s big brother Bruce and his wife Jeanette.

Managed to get all our luggage into Bruce’s car, while the boys and I rode with Jeanette.

We had dinner at a restaurant where they live and some other members of our family joined as well. Lovely to be with them all again.

THEN .... Bruce and Martin announced that I would be driving another car to our holiday apartment. Our niece has very kindly leant us her car to drive while we’re here. I GOT TO DRIVE!!! After 6 years .... OMG. It was so exciting. And it was raining. And it was a stick shift! Jon was super impressed :).

Anyway, we are here now, and after a long day, we ended it by watching the very moving funeral service of the Duke of Edinburgh ... RIP.
