DUKE OF EDINBURGH AWARD SCHEME.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award is a youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh that has since expanded to 144 nations. This is a photo of my son accepting the award for Gold at St James’s Palace London. Paul did meet Prince Philip who walked around talking to some of the youths. Next to Paul in the photo is Clare Frances a remarkable woman. It was a memorable day and Tony and I were very proud parents. Clare Mary Francis MBE is a British novelist who was first known for her career as a yachts woman who has twice sailed across the Atlantic on her own and she was the first woman to captain a successful boat on the Whitbread Around the World race. Thank you (Stiffknees) blip mate for giving me the idea to post this blip today. I hope you’ve all had a lovely Sunday.
