The Legacy

Rick Randall, Senior Chaplain for the Austin Police Department, filled the pulpit for our interim pastor as he was out of town today,  Rick spoke to us about the importance of passing on more than just the stories about God's involvement in our lives in the past, we need to pass on the knowledge of the need for our own active relationship with Him and how we come to that relationship and what we do with that relationship.  He used three chairs to symbolize three generations.  The first generation knows God intimately, the second generation hears about God and may or may not have Him as an active part of their lives, and the third generation only knows about God as a distant figure that their grandparents may have mentioned, but they don't or can't see how He is relevant to their lives.  Rick challenged us to think about which chair we are in and what kind of legacy regarding a relationship with God we are passing on to our children and future generations.......
