LD 392 Buzzing about

For the past few days I have noticed this plane buzzing about, sometimes over us and sometimes a bit further away - at the end of last week it was over Colonsay and then Islay - and since I tweeted a screen shot from the Flight-radar app  I have had other reports of it.

I don't know what it is doing, but I do know that it is both the type of aircraft, and from a company, that specialises in aerial surveys of various sorts.  

What type of survey it might be carrying out  isn't very obvious however from the tracks though someone suggested LIDAR to do with something marine and it did seem to follow the shore line of the lochs a lot today. 

I did try to get a better shot of it but annoyingly it was always almost directly above us with no chance of a sideways  image.
