Song thrush

We had quite a cool night at the caravan, it was very cold overnight. But once we were up and about the weather was lovely again.. Darren had intended to get up early and drive to the coast, but instead we got up early and didn’t drive to the coast, we stayed local to York instead. Had a nice morning lunch time walk to Appleton Roebuck, it was so quiet we hardly saw anybody till we got to village. We rested on a bench at Appleton Roebuck before setting off back the same way we’d come. On the way back Darren spotted this song thrush in a tree above us, he had his little canon m50 with 55-200 lens on, not really a wildlife set up and certainly not for far away birds but as this was only a couple of metres away Darren thought he’d try his luck and it’s come out pretty well. The thrush hung around for a few minutes and wasn’t put off by my presence, which is unusual as I seem to scare things even when I don’t mean to. We got to car and had walked about 7miles, so pretty good. We spent the rest of afternoon back at caravan. As it was Friday the site began to fill up, it was the first weekend after reopening after all, unfortunately we were doing the opposite as Darren had to work the next day so we set off home just before 8, which was a great shame as it was a lovely mild evening.
