Bee on Mahonia

Continuing Pinklhairedlady's April TT theme of "things that make you happy", I was setting up my tripod to take a super-macro, focus-stacked photo of one of our tiny Mahonia flowers today when along came a bee*. Well, bees make me even happier than flowers on their own so I quickly removed the super-macro Raynox attachment (ie leaving just my normal macro lens), grabbed the camera off the tripod, turned off the focus stacking and switched on rapid fire. Out of about 50 quick-fire shots I ended up with this one for today's blip. 30 seconds later the bee was gone (clearly it was camera-shy) so I'm glad I acted quickly.

(* I'm hopeless at telling bees from wasps so please feel free to correct me if I've got this wrong.)
