Coming in to land.

Although reasonably widespread in Europe, glossy ibis are not often seen hereabouts (only my second time.) Global warming, and the lack of flights to Spain, mean they are choosing to stay.
Extra: I like their prehistoric profile.
It was a warm sunny day, and a large dollop of the afternoon was spent with a couple of friends in their big garden. It was the first time we'd seen them in over a year and they spoiled us with a fine array of food and drink. With the dessert I was offered cream and was told 'a spoon of double cream has the same number of calories as seventy raspberries; that's why I decided to give up.. raspberries. '
