Saga, Day Two

Josh passed along a load of vintage fly rods and more last weekend. These were Tom’s, Uncle Francis’s poles. He died in the late 70s. There are four split bamboo fly rods, two salmon rods, and two spinning rods. This one is the same rod as last night’s, a 9’ split bamboo, made in the Horrocks-Ibbotson shop in Utica, NY, before 1929. Its balance and feel are unreal.

More to come.
