Oiling the Recorder

I walked to Saltaire this morning to meet with L and recorder tutor F for a lesson on oiling our new wooden recorders, something which has to be done very carefully.

We set out our blankets behind the United Reformed Church, above the canal.  It was a bit breezy so we were well wrapped up.  F took us through the process and whilst our recorders were drying, we played a new piece of music with three parts.  I was a bit nervous about that, but it was fun playing together in the outdoors.  We warmed up with cuppas and muffins, dried off our instruments and parted ways homeward.  I walked back along the canal to Bingley for a bottle of milk and then home.
