Wallflower

(and a bee).

Busy day today with visitors this morning/lunch al fresco and then my planned quiet second half of the afternoon went awry when there was a somewhat alarming gushing of water from a pipe outside, flooding the drive. Fortunately, the previous owner had shown us where the stopcock was and I remembered, so I was able to switch the mains water off. It looked like it might be a drain issue so, to cut a long story short, I managed to find a drain engineer who was able to come straight over from Chichester.

When he got here, he quickly established that the drains were fine, at which point we were expecting to have to try and get a plumber in. However, the drain guy didn't want to leave us in the lurch and, thanks to his tenacity, he managed to identify and fix the problem, even though it was out of his remit. It turned out to be to do with the ballcock in the guest toilet. Anyway, all's well that ends well and I'll be giving him an excellent review on Checkatrade.

(PS - Yesterday's link went wrong, so here it is again)
