Early start...

...this morning, well before sparrow’s fart, for 700km road trip to Melbourne. Having way too little sleep was not helped in any way by the pitch black darkness topped off with sporadic doses of light-to-medium rain. And random stretches of roadworks, sometimes signed, sometimes not..
Plenty of horrible but necessary road food along the way, and several attempts at coffee ranging from meh to straight to the rubbish bin
But now all safe and sound ensconced in trendy Carlton in a 1 bedroom apartment with kitchen, lounge and balcony (perfect), bottle of wine grabbed from nearby mini-mart at twice the price at home but who cares, and have already picked out the online special offer pizza from the Italian restaurant across the road from here for early dinner, and in all likelihood, early bed time.
Breakfast tomorrow morning with daughter and her beau, fresh back from a couple of years in New York, and now we’ll into their new jobs in Melbourne CBD.
No complaints so far. Apart from those bloody roadworks.
