Boo

Today's Blip is dedicated to our beloved Boo, a rescue greyhound that we've had the honour to have in our family since Oct last year. She was a super sweet and gentle and lazy hound that perfectly suited our lives and she got on great with our three kitties.

She had terrible teeth though and in January, we had extensive dental work carried out on her... They removed 15 teeth!

Since then, she's been a different dog, for the better. She's been much happier and much much more energetic and active. She pines for her off the leash adventures that we take her on during weekends and we can see she's just desperate to do that every day.

And unfortunately we've realised that we can't give new active Boo the regular adventures she clearly deserves. We both work full time and sometimes long hours and we feel terrible when on many days we can't do any more than just take her out for short loo walks and she just looks at us with "I wish I could go out and run" sad eyes.

Having made this heartbreaking decision, we went back to the wonderful people at the Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary that we got Boo through and they were super helpful and supportive. This was a few weeks ago and today Boo is going to a new home. Her new home is out in the country where she'll live with horses and a whippet puppy and she'll get the much more active life she deserves.

So we're rather sad now having said goodbye to our beloved Boo. But she's gone to a great new home and we know she'll be happy.

I wholly recommend that everyone supports the wonderful Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary. Run by volunteers, the amount of time and care they give to finding homes for greyhounds. Scottish Greyhound Sanctuary

And we wholly recommend greyhounds. If you're thinking of getting a dog, do consider a rescue greyhound. They're lovely pets and really sweet and they get such a bum deal.
