Blossom Time

After shopping Mr Flum suggested a walk along the old railway line at Ravelston so we accessed from Craigleith Crescent where the cherry blossom is just emerging. I noticed this truss coming direct from the trunk, liking the contrast with the rough bark.

We enjoyed a degree of nature study along the way; using Mr Flum's birdsong app we identified the call of a blackcap, coal tits and blackbird, we recognised the robin's, of course and saw the wren, among others. I admired the many patches of bluebells and honesty, though a slighter pinker bloom (the extra), caught my eye.

This path was very popular with joggers and cyclists, though only one managed to ring a bell before whizzing past, most were considerate. It did seem very busy, considering this was only a Friday.
