Cuckooflower

Cuckooflower/Lady's Smock/Milkmaid (Cardamine pratensis) near Hof ter Saksen, Beveren, Belgium

This grows alongside the ditches that line the roads and cross the fields around here in spring.

It is the host plant for the Orange-tip butterfly (Anthocharis cardamines) caterpillar, and as you can see they share a Latin name. This time of year you can see the butterflies patrolling the waterways.

I do wish the wind would change its quarter. The day is sunny and bright otherwise.
