ANZAC Day

Martin attended a 5am dawn service right next to where we are staying. His first ANZAC service. I could hear it from our flat. He said it was very moving indeed.

We met up with Bruce and Jenny at Mary Cairncross lookout and bush walk. This is a special place for our family as Martin’s mum loved being here and hugging trees. Even the boys have memories of grandma doing that, so we all got the obligatory tree hugging op and photo.

This is also one of Martin’s favourite views in Queensland. We have a panoramic photo of this view hanging in our home .. well will be hanging again in our new home.

Then a drive up in the hills to Montville via Maleny. Stopped for lunch and ice cream. It’s been another gorgeous weather day.

There is so much beauty around, it’s hard to behold. Even the boys are enthralled with it and fighting for the front seat to get the best views.

Back to Caloundra and some time with Tom and Sandy. They came to us and we sat on the balcony and enjoyed cheese and wine and then a pizza dinner.

It’s been a fabulous week of reacquainting with the Aussie family. We hope to be able to see them often.

Tomorrow, Brisbane! Our new home city.
