Bishops Children

I decided to plant some Dahlia seeds & they're called "Bishop's Children", why I don't know, but they seem to be growing nicely on the windowsill.
Monty Don said to plant the seeds at the same time that he did & after 2-3 weeks he showed them & they were a darn site bigger than mine; were they ones he'd prepared earlier?
