I wasn't sure whether I had this in me today so I had a few backup plans, including the option of a train.
Sometimes you just have to believe you should be able to and go for it.
I took it steady, timed it perfectly for one of only four outdoor tables at Ye Olde Naked Man and pottered on around Pen-y-ghent fuelled by a jacket potato and peppermint tea. The twenty-minute wait halfway up the Burnsall hill due to the logging lorry taking up the whole road gave me another timely break before the last leg home.
It was stunning with a really light wind and I actually feel OK! Hurray!
