Normal Service

..... was resumed today as far as travelling is concerned.   Thank goodness!    Last Tuesday it took us nine hours to cover just over a hundred miles, today we managed almost three times that in just over seven hours.   Three stops at services today against stopping every twenty minutes last week - from which you may gather that Jamie's gastric problems have subsided at last :-)

We have to collect his new wheelchair from a hospital clinic near Llanfairfechan on the North Wales coast tomorrow and opted to overnight nearby rather than face another lengthy round trip through Wales.   We can look forward to a relaxed morning and just the one-way drive home through the mountains.

At the services where we stopped for lunch there were huge carpets of this purple wildflower which I think is Clinopodium acinos, Basil Thyme, although someone may correct me.   It was certainly very striking, reminding me of the density of flower that I have sometimes seen in the alpine meadows.
