Life in Newburgh on Ythan

By Talpa

Owt for nowt!

As the saying goes,  "a Yorkshireman is a Scotsman with all the generosity squeezed out of him". Having been born in Yorkshire, and having spent most of my life in Scotland, I inevitably enjoy a bargain, particularly if I can get summat for nowt.

Imagine my joy then, when having chopped off the head of our ceiling-high fiddle-leaf fig tree, it has rooted and is flourishing. Two figs for the price of one!
